Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of AccountHouse during the beta program — the web dashboard and the Android companion. By registering interest, accepting an invitation, or signing in, you agree to this document.
Document & software versions
Version numbers match the product About screens. Material changes to these terms will be published here with a new date. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. Security product controls are summarised on Features · Security.
1. Beta service
AccountHouse is offered as a curated beta. Access is by invitation or approved interest registration. We may approve, delay, or decline requests. Features may change, be limited, or be withdrawn without prior notice. Uptime, performance, and data continuity are not guaranteed during beta.
Beta participation is personal to the household and accounts we approve. You may not resell, sublicense, or publicly redistribute access credentials.
2. What you may use AccountHouse for
You may use AccountHouse only for lawful household and personal finance tracking for your own household (or a household you are invited into), including:
- Recording expenses, income, budgets, payables, and related household activity
- Split groups for shared costs among people you invite
- DocuVault, cards, goals, net-worth registry, calendar reminders, and similar modules for your household
- Collaboration among household members under the roles you assign (admin, member, viewer)
AccountHouse is a tracking and organisation tool. It is not a bank, payment processor, remittance service, tax advisor, or investment advisor. You remain responsible for verifying figures and for any decisions you make using the product.
3. Acceptable use and abuse
You agree not to misuse the service. Prohibited conduct includes, without limitation:
- Attempting to access another household’s data or another user’s account
- Sharing passwords, session tokens, or 2FA codes, or bypassing authentication controls
- Credential stuffing, brute-force sign-in attempts, scraping, or automated abuse
- Uploading malware, illegal content, or material you do not have rights to store
- Interfering with the service, other users, or our infrastructure
- Using the beta for production-critical legal, regulatory, or high-stakes financial reliance without independent verification
- Impersonation, harassment, or using the product for unlawful activity
We may investigate suspected abuse using security logs, session metadata, and related signals described in the Privacy Policy. Confirmed or reasonably suspected abuse may result in warnings, feature limits, security locks, suspension, or permanent removal from the beta.
4. Fees, beta access duration, and future subscriptions
Current beta. During the present beta (suite 6.26.1), approved households use AccountHouse without a paid subscription fee. Beta access lasts for as long as we continue to offer your household a place in the program, or until we communicate a change (for example end of beta, migration to a paid plan, or withdrawal of access).
If or when paid plans begin. We may introduce subscription or other paid access after beta. Before charging you, we will communicate — by email and/or in-product notice — the plan name, price, billing period (for example monthly or yearly), what is included, renewal behaviour, and how to cancel or decline. You will not be silently moved onto a paid plan without that notice and an opportunity to accept or leave.
Until such notice is given and accepted where required, no recurring subscription obligation applies under these terms.
5. Locks, suspension, and how we communicate
AccountHouse includes security and operational controls that can limit access:
- Account security lock — may be applied automatically or by operators when sign-in activity looks abusive or compromised. Normal access is blocked until recovery completes through the email recovery path we provide.
- Session revoke — you or we may end active sessions; you can revoke other devices from Settings on web or mobile.
- Beta suspension or removal — we may suspend or terminate beta access for abuse, inactivity, capacity limits, or operational reasons.
- Household admin controls — household administrators may deactivate or limit members within their household.
Communication. When we lock, suspend, or withdraw access for security or policy reasons, we will endeavour to notify the affected account by email (and, where available, in-product or push notice), except where notice would compromise an investigation or is legally restricted.
6. Beta usage review and administrator questions
Because AccountHouse is a curated beta, system administrators (our operators) may contact household admins or account holders to ask about usage. You agree to respond to reasonable beta-related questions in good faith.
Failure to respond after reasonable notice, or answers that confirm misuse, may lead to limits, suspension, or removal from the beta.
Operational review is separate from law-enforcement or legal process requests, which we handle as required by applicable law and as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Accounts, roles, and your responsibilities
- Keep credentials confidential; enable 2FA where appropriate.
- Provide accurate registration and contact details so we can reach you about locks or beta changes.
- Ensure you have rights to upload documents and to invite the people you add.
- Household admins configure roles and permissions; misuse by an invited member may still affect the household’s beta standing.
8. Financial disclaimer
Dashboards, health scores, forecasts, Split balances, alerts, and exports are informational. They may contain errors or delays. AccountHouse does not provide financial, tax, or legal advice. You are solely responsible for decisions made using the service.
9. Intellectual property
AccountHouse, its software, branding, and documentation remain our property (or that of our licensors). You retain rights to the content you enter. You grant us a limited licence to host and process that content solely to operate the beta and as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Availability and “as is”
The beta is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of uninterrupted access, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect damages arising from beta use, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
11. Ending access
You may stop using AccountHouse at any time. Household admins may deactivate members. We may end or refuse beta access as described above. After access ends, we may delete or anonymise household data after a retention period consistent with the Privacy Policy, except where we must keep records for security or legal reasons.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the beta evolves or before a paid launch. We will update the “Terms last updated” date and version references on this page. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms for beta participation. If you do not agree, stop using the service and contact us to withdraw.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms, locks, or beta usage reviews: contact your household administrator or the email on your welcome / approval message. Security incidents should be reported through the same channel as soon as practicable.
